@adweeks@BICSoc@LivUniResearch@LiverpoolWomens@NIHRresearch You may take it as arguing semantics, but my point is that language really matters, particularly in such a vulnerable time. I know wards are under financial pressure, but many aspects of personalised care is in how language is used and wont cost the NHS more.
@adweeks@BICSoc@LivUniResearch@LiverpoolWomens@NIHRresearch however you cannot disagree with a flight attendant (they have the power to take you off the flight or restrain you and turn the plane around), and that is how many women feel with birth in hospitals, you need to agree or you will be threatened with consequences.
@adweeks@BICSoc@LivUniResearch@LiverpoolWomens@NIHRresearch A better analogy is a woman cycling with many alternative routes, and the healthcare providers acting as google maps providing suggested routes that may change along journey, they can go at their own pace and along the way decide to change the route or mode of transport.
@adweeks@BICSoc@LivUniResearch@LiverpoolWomens@NIHRresearch I agree the need for more staff funding, but the analogy you used is actually quite upsetting that a woman is just a passive passenger on a plane staffed by heathcare providers who are actually in charge of where the plane will go.
Had a great time talking about the radiobiology of alphas and betas at the High Country Nuclear Medicine conference in Park City, Utah. Thank you again for the invitation. I also had a great time skiing for the first time in 16 years, such a treat.
We are really keen on applicants with a background investigating metabolism who may not have used any radiation before and will provide training and experience on preclinical models.
Just a reminder there is still time to apply (closing 7th March) for a Postdoc investigating the metabolic signatures in #prostatecancer 🦴 mets w/ PET imaging for tailored☢️+💊 combos.

Reminder there is still time to apply (closing tomorrow, 17th January) for these positions on an exciting project to determine how prostate cancer metabolism affects its radioresistance against 177LuPSMA and more importantly how to overcome this resistance.
@syaterry That reminds me of the time my son interupted his class' pre-school performance to suggest this time we instead do a... blue combine harvester. It was surprising how many children could not adapt to such radical improvisation.
