Cuba Nowadays: It's no secret that Fidel hated architecture, and especially architects. Even Hitler knew how to appreciate the beauty of architecture, that's why he never destroyed Paris when he took it in World War II.
That hatred was reflected throughout Cuba, destroying in six decades what it took so much effort for Cubans to build in the Republic.
There is no significant building or architectural complex built by Fidel in his time as a dictator, only hotels for foreigners, with an architecture not according to our climate and with projects imported from other latitudes. What he built is not significant compared to everything he left to destroy.
I hope at some point where the freedom of Cuba is achieved to be able to contribute to the reconstruction of our country. I hope to be alive for that.
