Not totally against this, he actually profiles closer to Bruno than you might think. Adds experience and leadership. Him and Bamba could work very well together with a more advanced, creative midfielder (which I assume #NUFC will sign).

🚨Newcastle are considering a move for Marseille midfielder Pierre Emile-Højbjerg.
🇩🇰 The Danish international is valued around £15m and could be an option for #NUFC, who are looking to add experience to their squad following the departure of Bruno Guimarães.
🤔 The 31-year-old is one midfield option Newcastle are exploring…
@AdeoluwakitanS Steur is mainly just a placeholder as he profiles closer to Bruno and the type of replacement for him that we’ll be bringing in. I wasn’t selecting the better or more experienced player, just who stylistically fits this hypothetical lineup better. 👍🏻
@KeefE30s I live in this reality, where it’s a popular nickname for him. It was given to him for his unusually good dribbling ability, it’s also just a bit of fun.
"He's a good player. He's called 'Woltemessi' for a reason. He's good on the ball and unpredictable." - Neuer

@ROBINBLAKE83@JoelBlandSport Steur over him is just for profile reasons, Steur/Bamba pivot offers more balance imo. However, when we inevitably sign a proper Bruno replacement it’s likely neither Steur or Miley are consistent starters.
@SamBrysonMan Moussa (or other right-sided forward), 1 Fullback, 2 Midfielders (a 6/8 and an attacking 8/10) and Potentially a CB.
Moving Pope, Willock and Murphy on would be great too.
@twsyme I don’t rate him as highly because of those limitations and I think Toure is a clear upgrade. That said, you’re right. Barnes’ strengths suit Jaissle’s vertical system much better than they suited Howe’s, so I could see him being an effective option off the bench.
@twsyme It’s possible as we’re not playing under Howe anymore. Besides, this lineup is showcasing the project more than anything. Naturally, Steur will be out for Bruno’s replacement and it will be Bamba/Miley next to them. Barnes could start over Toure but would be very disappointing.

@gw850 The Howe cult are insane, geniunely baffling how many of them won’t get behind the new manager or project. It’s really as if they supported Eddie Howe FC and not Newcastle United.

@NUFC_LJ Sorry, love Miley but hard to see him as a consistent starter. Some games he’ll start for sure, whether that’s in the midfield or at RB, depends on opposition.

@GeordieJaissle Yeah this is just displaying what we have right now, it’s very likely we replace Bruno with a more experienced player than who we’ve brought in so far this window.
