🙏🙏🙏
Bill Simmons on the Nuggets:
“Why do they have to trade anybody to sign Peyton Watson? You have Jokic in your team, pay everyone, F*** off. Kroenke has a gazillion dollars, just keep everybody AND pay Peyton Watson. Your owner is super rich what are we doing?”
(via @BillSimmons, @ZackLowe_NBA)
NBA Playoff scoring is still down 3.6 points per 100 possessions from the regular season
That's the second biggest offensive drop-off since 1977, following four straight postseasons with a drop-off
Josh Kroenke says everything is on the table for the Nuggets this offseason, except trading Nikola Jokic 🗣️
"Everything's on the table right now, outside of trading Nikola."
"I think we need to have running it back as a possibility."
one of jokic's many nba records that will be pretty tough to break—
he won an MVP (reg or finals) in 4 straight seasons, (2020-21 thru 2023-24)
and it certainly could've been 6 straight
the next longest streak is 3 in a row (giannis, kobe, shaq, mj 2x, bird, wilt, russell)
People that wanted to rewrite Jokic's legacy are going to do so because they've had to suck it up and take it for three years. They will not be convinced otherwise. You're better off just rolling your eyes and keep it moving.
He's accomplished REAL things. He's been incredible. He sucked in this series from start to finish outside of Game 5. You play who's in front of you. He bears burden for the failure of this year's team more than his defenders will want to believe and less than his haters will.
You're never going to stop people from trying to tear down someone who has accomplished what he has if they still want to. If he hasn't earned their respect yet, they will never give it to him because it's too detrimental to their base sports opinions.
Reminder before you go on your “let’s pretend Jokic’s title didn’t count” rant today, both the 2025 Thunder and the 2024 Celtics won the title without beating a team with more than 50 wins.
ALORS.
