Animals change sex and the only reason we use he/her for animals is because we impose human gender onto them. For all we know they could have different "genders", biology hasn't stopped them before so why should it stop us?

People still die in childbirth, people can break bones in childbirth, they bleed, they suffer, they have to handle extreme hormone fluctuations, they can get mental health issues.
