Day 2- We talked about what it takes to be better at math (student math practice standards), played round 2 of Four 4’s, and played a fun round of “read my mind” where classes practiced discourse skills without them knowing it .😉
Used integer chips as "coins" to explore exponential functions in Algebra 1 . Ran out if chips and had to derive the function f(x)= 2^x-1 to see quickly the money grew! #DunbarDoesIt#NumberStuff#AMSTIworks
Fun times in class today by practicing coordinate rules for transformations using the Transformation Dice game! Lots of "oh's" and "I get it now" during this activity!! #DunbarDoesIt#NumberStuff#AMSTIworks
Just found out my Donors Choose is fully funded in less than a week! Nice class set of 10 tablets coming for us to us explore math concepts with stuff like @Desmos@geogebra@SpheroEdu
Learning how rigid transformations work via the Cha Cha Slide! Fun day of learning and happy students make for a happy teacher! #NumberStuff#DunbarDoesIt
Last day with week of iMath activities. Variety of strategies and use of manipulative tools/good group work. Tomorrow we dance to learn about transformations! #NumberStuff#AMSTIworks#DunbarDoesIt
Week of iMath going great! Students learning about how the brain grows/how to visualize numbers/look for patterns. Student-led discourse in groups/proud students when making connections on their own! 😃 @joboaler@DunbarMagnet#NumberStuff#AMSTIWorks#DunbarDoesIt
@AMSTI_Elizabeth @AMSTIUSA Day 1 "bellringer" that kids will have to find via Instagram, then into a "week of iMath" activity to talk about growth mindsets/student practice standards! #notinthepacinguide
