🔵🇦🇷 Chelsea have signed Emiliano Dibu Martínez on £7.5m deal from Aston Villa, two year contract until June 2028.
The agreement includes an option until June 2029.
On the economic war against Iran:
1. There isn't a single new sanction. Everything in Iran has been under primary and secondary sanctions since 2018. Since these sanctions failed to achieve the goals the US and Israel wanted, both sides turned to military action.
2. The big fanfare about an "economic war" is really just a public admission of a major step backward. After failing militarily, Washington is clearly stepping back to square one—the economy.
3. However, there is one new factor: the naval blockade. After some hesitation, Washington has already started making initial attempts to enforce it by warning Iranian ships and even targeting two of them so far. The question is: will this blockade actually bring the change America wants?
4. The answer depends on two things: first, America's ability to enforce the blockade (which military experts doubt), and second, how Iran reacts to it. If we assume the US can do it, the focus then shifts to Iran and how it chooses to respond.
5. The response has already come from a group of senior Iranian officials, including Mr. Rezaei, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council—which suggests this is a decision made at the top. They have repeated: if Washington does not meet Iran's conditions, we will move from defense to offense. In short, Tehran is telling Washington that stepping back from military action doesn't mean Iran won't strike back—especially if the US refuses to pay the price for its military failure and doesn't fully implement the memorandum of understanding. These are exactly the conditions Iranian officials keep bringing up.
In general, US decision-makers are falling into the same trap as many analysts, including those in the region: they are analyzing today's Iran based on old assumptions. Evaluating Iran's current strategy with the same old lens and tools will lead to mistakes and prevent them from seeing what comes next. Iran has changed because of the war forced upon it. Its leaders now believe their pressure tools are more effective than what Washington has. So, after Washington retreats from military action back to economic pressure, Iran is saying that this option is no longer acceptable. Tehran would rather go to war than stand idle while the blockade is enforced. This decision is tied to Iranian calculations about its own military power, the political scene inside America, and the internal situation inside Iran itself.

Trump’s getting roasted today for his disastrous beef policy, the debt hit $40 trillion because of his “big beautiful bill,” he stepped-in-it in Iran, and he’s weeks away from failing his mid-terms in November.
