🚨 On January 12th Florida Senator Clay Yarborough filed SB 1756- known as the “Medical Freedom Bill.”
This was the anticipated bill that would include the verbiage to propel Florida into its next steps in “ending ALL vaccine mandates.”
However, on January 12th, 2026 when the bill was filed, there was no such verbiage to be found. In fact, it was removed entirely.
The companion bill HB917 filed by House Representative
Jeff Holcomb was also less than to be desired as it also did not have any “end all vaccine mandate” verbiage.
@flgovrondesantis had a great opportunity to hold true to his word in his last term as governor and DID NOT.
So what exactly does this mean for Floridians and beyond?

Six years ago today, I started speaking out. What nurses were seeing in real time did not match the public narrative. And when I found myself in direct conflict with institutional pressure, I went back and read the Nursing Code of Ethics for myself. That is when I realized
Modern nursing isn’t just clinical — it’s ethical. When the pandemic disrupted healthcare systems, it also tested the moral foundation of the profession. In this lesson from Navigating Ethical Waters, Jodi O’Malley explores how integrity, allyship, and moral courage define what
Your sugar cravings aren’t the problem. They’re a signal. Your body is asking for fuel—but what you choose matters. Because quick sugar leads to crashes… and the cycle continues. 🎙️ Listen to this powerful breakdown on NursesOutLoud: Spotify:
A nurse once shared that careful documentation helped identify a safety issue in her unit. At the time it seemed like a small detail. Later it became an important piece of information in understanding what had happened. Observation and documentation matter. Real clinical
Provision 3 defines one of nursing’s most essential responsibilities: advocacy. This includes: • Protecting patient safety • Reporting unsafe practices • Ensuring patient rights are respected Advocacy is not optional — it’s part of ethical nursing practice. Jodi breaks down how
Many nurses have heard of the Code of Ethics, but few have studied how the provisions apply to real nursing situations. Provision 3 is one of the most important — because it focuses on protecting patients. If you want to see how these provisions apply in real nursing scenarios,
A nurse once described working multiple double shifts because the unit was short staffed. By the end, she was exhausted and worried about making mistakes. Situations like this highlight why nurse well being matters for both ethical practice and patient safety. Jodi discusses
Provision 8 reminds us that nursing extends beyond the bedside. Nurses collaborate with healthcare professionals, community leaders, and public health organizations to improve the wellbeing of entire populations. Through collaboration, education, and trust-building, nurses help

Ask a nurse what the Code of Ethics says without letting them look it up. Most will say, “Do no harm.” That’s not the nursing Code of Ethics. And that reveals a much deeper issue. Most nurses think they’re good people, so they assume they’re practicing ethically and abiding by
A nurse once noticed several patients experiencing similar reactions after treatment. At first she assumed it was a coincidence. But after documenting the pattern, it helped initiate further review. Careful observation is one of the most powerful tools nurses have. Jodi talks
