@PuffinBooks@gregjames@itschrissmith @emilybobdraws As a parent of a recently disabled teen who has seen the awful impact of ableism, I'm so incredibly disappointed in this. Do better.
@AmieVarley I've been through this with my own children at a similar age. I think going to the funeral was an important part of their grieving process. We prepared them for what to expect and they managed well. As others have mentioned, be ready to leave if need be. So sorry for your loss.
If we want to radically improve #mentalhealth, let’s give people housing. End poverty. Promote food security. Be anti-racist. Fund harm reduction. Offer workers paid sick days. Provide equitable healthcare (and mental healthcare) to all…After all, equity IS mental health. 🙏🏽
After my webinar on children who aren't fine at school I have been inundated with messages from parents saying how much they identified with it & how they feel that the current professional discourse around this isn't adequate. Here are a few simple things we could change.1/
Imagine a world where we said, what’s going on with the children? So many of them are angry and distressed after school. So many of them are shut in their bedrooms. So many of them are anxious and unhappy. So many of them disillusioned at 15. 1;
@AmieVarley As heartbreaking as it is, you can't help someone who isn't ready for the help. Don't underestimate however the power of planting seeds and letting that person know you're there for them. ((Hugs))
@MarkPFIsher @OCDSB@OttawaHealth@CHEO@JimWatsonOttawa Thank you. I've had to keep my immunocompromised teen home from school for the past two weeks and he won't be able to return unless masking is reinstated.
@SharonDV Draw around the outside edge of the redness with pen so that you can tell if it's getting worse or better. If getting worse would head to ER!
@heynursekat I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this. Remember it says nothing about you and everything about the people who are doing the harrassing. Sending you love. ❤️
