Teacher Leaders from @CSD10Bronx take stock of the teacher teams in the school community and use reflection, resources, and artifacts to explore dimensions of teacher teams. What’s your teacher team? @NycLearning @QCarolyneQ1 @DOEChancellor@UFTTchrCENTER

Already blown away by the #SoapboxNYC speeches our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are delivering today! Our students are advocating for big change on the issues that matter most to them and their communities @MikvaChallenge

Happy #FeelGoodFriday LEADers! Today LEAD is shining a light on APLI Alumni & new principal, Steven Neal of Bronx Compass HS. Principal Neal was born & raised in NY & attended NYC public schools. He served in the NYC DOE for 13 years & has been a principal for one year.
Right now, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reimagine our education system to fix the entrenched inequalities that hold too many children back.
I’m proud that @realdavidcbanks will be the next NYC Schools Chancellor trusted to make better schools a reality.
When oral language and written text don't match (due to dialect etc) learning takes longer, needs more exposures. Especially for words like "if" -- logical words that cannot be expressed in a picture -- these words are essential #LiteracySummit
Julie Washington: we need to teach students to decode but also meaning. Need for reading instruction AND reading time--and pay attention to language variability, cultures & meaning-making. Who needs a seat at the table? Librarians! Speech pathologists! #LiteracySummit@NYCSchools
