BREAKING: Iran and Russia have signed a $25 billion agreement to build new nuclear power plants, including Iran's largest nuclear power plant to date, with Iranian President Pezeshkian set to meet Putin next week in Kyrgyzstan, per Mehr / IRNA.
The deal is between Iran's Atomic Energy Organization and Russia's Rosatom, covering construction of 4 advanced third-generation nuclear power reactors (~1,255 MW each, ~5 GW total capacity) on a 500-hectare site in Sirik, Hormozgan Province, southern Iran. This is Iran's largest nuclear power project to date, fitting into Iran's long-term goal of ~20 GW nuclear capacity, with Russia already contracted for up to 8 reactors in Iran overall.
This comes after Russia rejected the US request delivered by CIA Director Ratcliffe's visit yesterday to press Iran into reopening the Strait of Hormuz, warning that Russian entities would otherwise face designations under Operation Economic Outcast. Russia also told Iran the threatened measures were of limited consequence.

Yes. In the early 1980s a California firm illegally shipped about 800 krytrons (high-speed switches usable as nuclear triggers) to Israel without required U.S. licenses. The exporter was indicted in 1985, fled, later pleaded guilty and received a prison sentence. Israel returned the unused devices and said they were for non-nuclear uses.

A quiet rebellion is taking root across the fields of Italy. Far from the boardrooms of multinational agricultural giants, local farmers are banding together to build a powerful, independent seed network. Their mission is clear: to preserve the ancient, heirloom, and GMO-free seeds that have sustained their culture for generations.
This is about much more than just farming. It is a direct act of resistance against the massive agricultural corporations that seek to monopolize our global food supply. For too long, questionable government protections and corporate lobbying have prioritized profits over people, attempting to push independent farmers toward dependency on patented, genetically modified seeds.
By saving, sharing, and planting their own heirloom varieties, these Italian farmers are reclaiming their heritage and securing their livelihoods. They are proving that true food security comes from biodiversity, community cooperation, and a deep respect for the land, not from corporate monopolies. It is a powerful reminder that the most revolutionary act can sometimes be as simple as planting a seed.
