Dear Nigerians,
Fifteen National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members were kidnapped in Kogi State on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, while returning from their orientation camp in Bayelsa State.
They were traveling to Abuja with Peace Mass Transit. They were intercepted along the Ofu/Itobe–Onicha-Igo axis in Ofu Local Government Area. The passenger manifest is attached.
The person in the video is the sister of one of the abducted victims. Please lend your voice & kindly share or retweet. They need to be rescued & reunited with their loved ones. 🙏
So this Nurse came up with a new rule that IV medications that are supposed to be administered slowly should only be given by doctors and we must not give it, because apparently administering IV medications is suppose to be doctor’s procedure. Mind you, almost every medication administered IV has to be pushed slowly.
Okay, so if you relegate nurses from doing almost all the procedures we’re trained and expected to do, what exactly are we supposed to do? Just vital signs?
If the Hospital management is stopping nurses from performing basic procedures, we should be fighting it. But instead you the nurse in charge are reducing your young, active nurses who actually want to learn and work to taking vital signs. How are we supposed to grow? How are we supposed to gain experience? How would we be respected?
And then we wonder why they pay nurses ₦80k. Why wouldn’t they? Why wouldn’t they hire quacks in place of qualified nurses when we’re being prevented from doing the very things we were trained to do?
And you lazy nurses too will sit down and accept doctors setting lines, giving IV medications, doing catheterization, nebulization, suturing and other basic procedures, then turn around and wonder why they don’t rate you.
I genuinely pity all of us.
