We are honored to receive the Strategic Tourism Supporting Partner Award from the Guyana Tourism Authority. 🇬🇾🌎
Tourism is a critical pillar for achieving comprehensive and sustainable development across the Americas. The OAS works to promote dialogue and cooperation among countries of the Hemisphere on sustainable tourism and to support them in the formulation and implementation of effective policies.
In Guyana in particular, we supported the hosting of the XXIV Inter-American Congress of Ministers and High-Level Authorities of Tourism in 2018; we have helped build resilience among tourism MSMEs in the country (and across the Caribbean); and we have strengthened community-based and Indigenous tourism, including through the Indigenous Tourism Collaborative of the Americas (ITCA).
We are grateful for this recognition and remain committed to advancing sustainable and inclusive tourism in Guyana and throughout the Americas.
