This morning at Kisozi Farm, I bid farewell to H.E. Frederieke Quispel, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Uganda, who has concluded her tour of duty.

I thanked her for her contribution to strengthening Uganda-Netherlands relations, particularly the shift from traditional aid to trade and investment. I also encouraged her to continue mobilising more investors from the Netherlands and the European Union to take advantage of Uganda’s many opportunities.
I wish her good luck & God’s blessings in her future endeavours.

The @StateHouseUg NSPC has launched a week-long ideological orientation and Patriotism Development training program in four Uganda Technical Colleges (UTCs) across the country.

The program aims to inculcate values of patriotism among students in all Secondary, Tertiary Institutions, Professionals and Informal sectors in Uganda.

This weeklong training will take place in the following institutions: UTC Bushenyi, UTC Kichwamba-Kasese, Management Training and Advisory Centre (MTAC)-Nakawa, and Institute of Survey and Land Management-Entebbe.

This initiative is fully funded by the Government of Uganda, in accordance with Article 17 (2) of the 1995 Constitution of Uganda, which mandates patriotic citizenry.

The RDC Secretariat & Anti-Corruption Unit (Office of the President) is conducting a monitoring engagement in Rukungiri District as part of a nationwide exercise to assess service delivery, accountability and coordination.

Today, I presided over the NRA Victory 40th Anniversary at Kololo Independence Grounds. Since 1986, Uganda has gone through five phases of economic recovery starting with restoring stability and followed by diversification and value addition. Today, we are firmly in the knowledge economy, with growth anchored in agriculture, manufacturing, services and the emerging oil and gas sector.

Manufacturing now supplies about 65% of goods in our supermarkets, agriculture and services continue to create wealth, Kiira vehicles are on the roads and oil production near Lake Albert begins this year. While I received 8 million votes, many supporters did not turn up due to intimidation, violence and internal indiscipline. These issues must be addressed so participation improves, stability is maintained and every Ugandan is fully involved in our country’s transformation.
