- Conduct regular security audits and implement protections including CSP headers, credential management, and input/output sanitization

- Coordinate directly with a backend engineering team – able to work from API specs and manage the integration layer between the website and core platform

- Support multi-domain and multi-geo requirements including translations, hreflang, redirects, and cross-domain session handling.

- Set up and maintain a proper deployment pipeline (dev → staging → production) using version control.

- Work natively in Gutenberg/Block Editor, including custom block development.

- Manage and optimize site performance (e.g., caching, CDN, database health, and Core Web Vitals)

- Implement and maintain tracking infrastructure at a code level (GTM, GA4, data layer, cross-domain)

- Build and manage custom API integrations between the website and third-party or internal backend systems (without having to rely on off-the-shelf plugins).

- Write and maintain custom WordPress plugins and hooks, not just configure existing ones.
