Getting ready to make Sweet Chestnut shingles for our Long House roof. This local woodland is about to be recoppiced. Delighted to be locking carbon into our roof AND the regrowth will process up to 3 times more carbon than a standard tree! + lots of volunteer skills development

Hand converted cranked tie beams in place. Underneath we have two repaired original cross ties. Until we close the reinstated Long House in, we need to keep them dry - hence the black plastic #hewing #traditionalskills #suffolk #timberframe first built in 1580 #volunteerproject
