When security teams simply block AI initiatives, they don't eliminate risk, they displace it.
Employees who need AI tools to remain competitive will find alternatives, often using personal devices and consumer accounts outside IT visibility.
This will make Shadow IT look like child's play.
As always put the effort into a thoughtful policy on AI usage.
Pull a team of internal experts into an AI guiding council.
Just heard David @friedberg on the All-In Podcast stating SpaceX & Starlink aren’t just internet.
They’re a backup to the internet.
Smart move for every CEO: Put a @Starlink in your home office.
Even smarter: Add Starlink backups to billing systems, data centres, and key infrastructure.
When your provider goes dark, you’ll be glad you did.
Resilience beats regret.
Given the week that we are living through I thought I would share my thoughts on the necessity for CEOs & C-Suite to accept the new reality of Cyber Warfare and Cyber Threats that we are facing.
A new approach is called for that rejects the "tick box" security we have accepted in the past. We need a Cyber First approach that places security above all other considerations.

David Lammy’s plan to slash our longstanding right to trial by jury is facing a huge chorus of opposition — and rightly so.
FSU research shows that those charged with “speech crimes” are almost twice as likely to be found not guilty in a Crown Court with a jury than in a magistrates’ court without one.
Last week, the Four Bars released a rare joint statement opposing Lammy’s sinister plan to curtail the right to jury trials.
They said they are “deeply concerned that the UK government is planning to restrict the right to a jury trial in England and Wales. Being tried by a jury of one’s peers is a fundamental cornerstone of the criminal justice system in our respective jurisdictions.”
They added that Lammy’s proposal would also undermine public trust in the criminal justice system.

@Devon_Eriksen_ Can’t fault your thinking. However, the low level pain is how they are making hackers jobs easier to scam businesses and ordinary folk.
@cyb3rops Agree with your take on this. As you state the business of increasing cyber defences is mundane and time consuming. It’s not helped by diverting people’s attention onto the latest boggey man.
I‘m back temporarily for one reason and one reason only:
To voice my absolute shock and disgust at the arrest of Graham Linehan—the latest in a long line of events that mark the end of a once great nation.
And it is, in fact, the end.

In my opinion we have to recognise the current state level of fucks to give... we are trying as an industry/community to increase the number of fucks people give about digital security (cyber security) because as humanity we have put technology into everything in our lives!
