The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Palestinian Territory mobilizes and coordinates assistance to people in need.
15 emergency and humanitarian workers were killed by Israeli forces at Tal As Sultan, Gaza, in March 2025. Eight were Palestine Red Crescent paramedics.
Ashraf remembers the colleagues he lost, not as numbers, but as brothers, and people who were deeply loved.
#ActForHumanity
So far this year, at least 8 aid workers have been killed in #Gaza. 185 were killed in 2025.
Statements of concern do not protect aid workers.
All parties to conflict must uphold international humanitarian law.
Those who break the rules must be held to account. #ActForHumanity
#Gaza has become one of the deadliest places in the world for humanitarians. Yet, they continue to deliver.
Humanitarians are #NotATarget. Their safety must be protected. All parties must uphold their obligations under international humanitarian law.
#ActForHumanity
#Gaza has been the deadliest context for aid workers globally for three years running.
On #WorldHumanitarianDay, we honour those who lost their lives while helping others.
In Palestine, just as anywhere else, those who continue this work must be able to do so safely.
"On this #WorldHumanitarianDay, we honour the aid workers who have lost their lives in service to others, and we pay tribute to colleagues who continue every day to stand with people despite extraordinary hardship."

A #UN team reached affected families in #Qusra today, delivering essential supplies, including water, food, medicines and hygiene items, as well as recreational kits for children.
The recent developments underscore the urgent need to protect civilians, safeguard homes and property, and ensure access to essential services. The UN will continue to engage on the situation and support affected families.
What has happened in Qusra must not become the new normal. Across the #WestBank , Palestinians must be protected, able to move freely and live in safety and dignity.
