"A $15 minimum wage hike won’t make life more affordable. It will create new problems & force small businesses to make painful decisions, from raising prices to cutting back. I hope my fellow Oklahomans vote against State Question 832," writes small business owner Tammy Nickerson
In a new op-ed for @TheOklahoman_ , Nickerson describes how if State Question 832 passes, it would force her and other small business owners to make painful choices: raise their prices, cut employee hours, or eliminate jobs.

I'm pleasantly surprised by the number of Oklahomans I'm seeing who understand the economic realities of left-coast-style minimum wage laws like SQ 832. It's a job and economy killer.
Keep speaking up and speaking out. Vote NO on June 16!

DO NOT CALIFORNIA MY OKLAHOMA
If Oklahoma SQ 832 passes, it will not only raise the minimum wage to $15 it will continue going up year after year. The cost of living figure isn’t calculated on the Oklahoma economy. It going to be based on California, New York and other major metropolitan areas. Oklahoma City is included but it’s not based off Oklahoma cost of living.
It will destroy small businesses and kill small entry level jobs. Small businesses in OKC / Tulsa may be able to pay their employees $15 but someone who runs a small shop in Guymon may not be able to.
This is probably one of the most important things Oklahoma should be voting on. More than the governors raise.
Vote NO on 832!

Fact: SQ 832 will keep increasing Oklahoma’s minimum wage year after year after it hits $15, whether Oklahoma small businesses can keep up or not.
Vote June 16.
SQ 832 may sound simple, but the real-world effects are more complicated.
