โค๏ธValentine You Melt My HEART! Second grade students observed chemical and physical changes during our chemistry demonstration. We melted frozen baking soda valentines with vinegar. โค๏ธ
๐Friendship is the theme this week in the Little Chief Library! Kinder friends enjoyed the book Love Monster and strengthened their fine motor skills, creativity, and spelling. Students were challenged to build hearts, sweets, and spell out kind words with snap cubes. ๐
๐ถThings got MUSICAL last week in the Little Chief Library! ๐ถ We enjoyed playing Musical Library Books as a way to explore new books. Over 20 winners received a forever book to keep! ๐
Oconee County Primary and Oconee County Elementary were recognized Wednesday as National Blue Ribbon Lighthouse Schools of Excellence. Since 2003, 289 schools nationwide have been chosen as Lighthouse Schools of Excellence โย and eight are from Oconee County. #OconeeFamily
Meet Sunflower! We are excited to welcome the newest Little Chief to her home in our library! Sunflower is an adorable Fancy Bear Hamster. Students will be able to observe Sunflower and learn about hamster care during their weekly visits the the Little Chief Library. ๐น๐ป
Read, Snap, CREATE! Kinders started their library camp out by learning how plants and animals adapt as the seasons change. They also enjoyed a spooky Berenstain Bears story before creating plants and wildlife that could be found on a camping trip! ๐ป๐๐๏ธ
Our library camping trip is off to a great start! Friends in 1st grade are reading The Great Indoors this week. Their STEM challenge is to build a bridge to get those crazy bears back into the forest! ๐ป๐๏ธ๐
๐๐A delicious activity! First graders read Pinkalicious Apples, Apples, Apples and then created their own apple treats including pink lady ice cream with a cherry on top! ๐๐
