@BathBytes Always watch Dickson ref and think he’s looking for an opportunity to prove he’s read every sentence of the rule book.
Not quite sure what Atkinson was meant to do there - I thought refs who played the game were meant to understand it better!
@TightFive_Rugby Why is there a rule that you can’t be off your feet when tackling someone? What’s that actually protecting
Also how is diving for a tap tackle any different.
Seems like Dickson was looking to give that to flaunt his knowledge of the rule book.
@CbCbdeviliers @RugbyInsideLine I think of an Anthony Watson goose or a hitch kick, most attackers avoid this tackle by almost kicking forward and getting the back leg out the way.
This has received scrutiny because it’s rare.
@Sam345665387962@RugbyInsideLine Your advocate for this is that, in rugby, it’s dangerous to tackle low. Or to tackle at the knees. Or to tackles at the ankles.
Almost like the directive from World Rugby has been to ‘tackle low’ with guidance being - tackle the ankles and knees.
@Sam345665387962@RugbyInsideLine Compare Robinsons step and compare Exeter left wingers. Tell me how they are the same.
Goalposts not being moved, my view is he has jumped the tackle.
I’d like to hear how he hasn’t, rather than debating the complexities of a goose step.
@Sam345665387962@RugbyInsideLine Picture A and B - no defenders around, not avoiding a tackle.
Picture C - no defender around and about to score the try - could dive if he wanted.
Picture D - struggling to see relevance. Both feet or one foot on ground, completely different, and perfect rugby play from JR.
See in the last few days/weeks some of the YouTube/Sideman virgins are piping up and after a scrap with yours truly. 🤷🏼♂️
I’ll happily oblige. We can do it Royal Rumble style. I’ll bang youse all out, one by one. 🥊
The whole cast from El Spastico can get it. All 22. On the same night. 🫡
Absolute firm of Divvies.

@AdamWarwick86@RugbyInsideLine As soon as they get the ball in Finn Smith, Lawrence, Sleighthome or Freeman hands they look good.
Slade aimless kicking horrendous.
Marcus Smith too focused on hitch kicking
@RugbyInsideLine Don’t get how Slade is almost viewed as a sure in. Hasn’t been good for 2-3 years.
Surely an option is to use Freeman at 13 and Lawrence at 12? Freeman scored his try from a break in the 13 channel…
