The swing from @GoogleMyBiz letting anyone make a business profile to giving verifiably legitimate businesses all sorts of grief about who they are is really something.
@GoogleAds we are noticing a significant increase in paid advertising costs and lower conversion rates across numerous industries in the last few months. Increased ad costs = more players in the market, lower conversion rates though across the board? Love to hear your take.

This is just a screenshot of what could be fit on the screen from last night. These emails add no value as we still need to review the whole application. At that point, they either did or didn't do the assessment. + we don't have a choice not to receive them!
@indeed MASSIVE quantities of emails being received for applicants doing "assessments", with no way of turning the emails off in preferences is quite the inconvenience for anyone's inbox. This would be a great fix to your platform!
@JohnMu Aggregators are now dominating search results for many categories. Many in these results offer nothing of substance in terms of content, but ride the coat tails of the aggregators rankings. Does this "aggregator" result really offer search customers the best information?
If there is one good thing to come out of the #COVID19 crisis, it is #telehealth.
@ProvHealth has gone from almost no virtual visits 6 weeks ago to doing more than 2000/day. Caring for the sick or worried well - without added risk of exposure. This could transform healthcare.
@JohnMu Of course all of this is making the best information harder to find. I know that GMB is an effort to level the local playing field, but what about the organic search field? Sorry for grossly violating 280. We appreciate your thoughts.
@JohnMu the algorithm clearly favors the overall power of the aggregator where there oftentimes is far less substance. In the last three years, this trend has worked its way into many high traffic niches and appears that it will eventually make its way into just about every niche.
@JohnMu While this is similar to businesses using Adwords, what's different is that they are taking up Google organic real estate. Whereas a business could be doing everything right as a business in providing great site experience,
@JohnMu Thanks John. Yes, it is a broad question as many categories are affected by this. Home service businesses in the USA have their aggregators. HomeAdvisor, Angies List and Yelp are a few. Rankings on these sites are at the very minimum influenced by how much these businesses pay.
