I am not ashamed of my journey. My life will be a testimony.
But if I could offer a word of advice to any freshman, sophomore or junior athlete in high school it would be to just listen bro. All them adults in your life not just talking to talk. They been here longer. They done bumped they head already. They trying to save you from doing the same thing.
Do not make the mistake of thinking your talent alone is enough. It’s not. Talent open doors. Character and grades keep you there. And if you already messed up, if your GPA not where it should be, if your name been in rooms for the wrong reasons… don’t quit. Keep digging. You can climb out the hole the same way you dug it.
Class of 29, 28 and 27 hear me.
Take your grades serious. Choose who you hang around wisely. Protect your name. Word spreads fast if you a crash out. Respect authority. Nobody riding for you like your parents and coaches. Work hard when nobody clapping.
Do not wait until senior year to lock in. That GPA do not lie.
I’m still figuring it out myself. I’m struggling but I know God got me.
Be intentional. Lock in early. Pray. Show up ready to work.
I’m learning the hard way that my future is being built in the small decisions I make today.
Start now.
INTENTION changes everything!
Two athletes. Same starting point. Same exact program. But one keeps improving… and the other stays stuck.
Why?
Athlete A is just going through the motions. Showing up because they have to. Checking the box.
Athlete B shows UP. Every rep has purpose. Every drill has focus. Every session has effort behind it.
That’s the difference between average and elite.
If you want to become an elite athlete, don’t just be present; be intentional. Work hard. Compete. Show up with purpose.
This post put together by performwithpete needs to be seen by as many athletes and coaches as possible! Amazing visual and an important lesson on how to maximize every training session. Over a thousand training sessions INTENT becomes the difference between success and knowing you could have been more!
Ray Lewis said, "That's why kids have a problem finishing things today. Because as soon as they feel a small bit of discomfort...they're gone."
"The greatest pain of my life is the reason I'm standing here today."
To overcome adversity, you have to be willing to face it.

In HS S&C, there will always be athletes that train w/ private coaches. That’s not the issue. The issue is as S&C coaches we can’t manage volume/workload if we don’t know what’s happening.
This is the email you want to receive! This puts the athlete☝🏼! 👏🏼to this private coach!

The weight room is biased. It only rewards those that work. And it will see right through someone who isn’t willing to do
it. It’s a truth teller. You can’t fool it.
You know what sucks?
Watching film all week, knowing what’s coming, and still giving up 40.
That’s what happens when you face a system, not just random plays.
