I never see this kind of thing in my life before (in that man's voice). This one na real rainbow confusion. But then, these are the issues. It is most unfortunate (again, in that man's voice)!
A man who was elected the APC House of Assembly candidate for a local government in Rivers State was seen during the consultations/primaries to elect (read: pick by consensus) the PDP candidate for the same constituency.
Tunji Disu, the newly appointed IG of Police, would have retired in a few months when he would have clocked 60. However, with the last amendment to the Police Act and his recent appointment, he gets an automatic additional 4 years to serve.
This moves his retirement age to 64 assuming he is not removed or he does not resign. I am just thinking, was the amendment to the Police Act actually meant to benefit Kayode Egbetokun (the outgone IGP) who at the time of the amendment had done a few years as IGP or Tunji Disu?
The controversy surrounding this AFCON final match was completely unnecessary. And then the Diaz penalty kick? Na! All of these took out the shine from the game.
Just wondering!
Why is it that most of, if not all, the (high profile) matters involving the FCT Minister or over which he has an interest at the FHC, Abuja Division somehow find their way to Hon. Jsts. Omotosho, Lifu and Abdulmalik?
This is a very sad commentary, indeed. No judiciary, especially at the highest levels, should carry itself in such a manner that people perceive that its processes can be influenced by outside forces.

The judiciary is the gatekeeper of society. Judicial corruption could, thus, be seen as the worst form of corruption as it destroys the very essence of society.
It, therefore, feels awkward and should worry the judicial authorities that a minister could say on national TV that a governorship candidate who had a matter at the Supreme Court reached out to him for assistance with his case in that court.
A person without 'connections' does the same thing or even less and the highest possible punishment is visited on the person. Double standards with these airport incidents with Kwam1 and Kwam 2! No society makes progress this way.
ODN
It has been said before and I think it bears repeating. Nigeria is fundamentally an unjust address. A 'big man' does something wrong and he literally gets away with it.
Now, WAEC is saying the same thing owing to the uncharacteristic level of failure in the 2025 English Language paper. What manner of institutional recklessness is this? Which institution is next? ODN.
In 2023, INEC said it experienced a glitch when results were being uploaded. There were no consequences. A few months ago, JAMB said something similar, leading to candidates retaking their exams.
