Not all that many of us, seen just over 17k of us registered in the UK. But I’m most certainly proud to be one part of this special cohort of health professionals, #ODPDay.
Happy National #ODPDay to the thousands working hard in the profession, in the UK. As our numbers are dwarfed by the amount of registered nurses. How to stop the usual terms like “best kept secret” and “unsung heroes” being brought out on this date every year?
Mondayest Friday ever! Not just Christmas soon. Now only 4 more shifts before my career break gets under way
Can’t take the credit for below. Was a joint effort by today’s Recovery staff
Productive couple of days for Paediatric Anaesthetic & Recovery course organised by SCM Medical Training in London (Marylebone). Plenty of new info/hacks soaked up, making the trip down worthwhile. Train bk up however not so simplistic! Thanks to Abbey (⭐️) for bailing us out!
Shout out to my talented @FghTheatres colleagues, not just in the perioperative sense. For their magnificent culinary contributions towards the departments now traditional ‘International Cuisine week’ to mark it
Themes during the week…

Scrubbing for a Corail Pinnacle THR, doing Anaesthetics for a Crash C-Section, Recovering a Right Hemicolectomy, assisting in A+E Resus, helping out in Critical Care (see Covid-19). All not necessarily what I’m the bees knees in doing, but all within an ODP’s remit.
I’ve a cheapish aftershave I wear for work. Coincidentally I’ve watched the Abercrombie & Fitch documentary on Netflix. I’ve been triggered by something. Put 2 and 2 together.
Been having a clear out at Home. And just because I’m such a dedicated ODP (on #ODPDay), I’m gonna watch this DVD prior to starting my run of Nights tonight. I think this is directed by Steven Spielberg.
