Hi ODU students and recent grads. I Am Boundless just reached out to share information about their current job openings that might be great for recent grads as well as current ODU students. Full-time and part-time roles are available.
Clutter competes for your attention and reduces focus. A Princeton study found messy spaces limit your brain’s ability to process. Take 5 mins to reset your desk before work—it’s a small habit that boosts clarity and productivity. #oducareercue#oducareer
Be a lifelong learner! Employers value curiosity, open-mindedness & a drive to grow. Stay open to new ideas, perspectives & ways of thinking-even when it’s hard. Whether you're a student or recent grad, being eager to learn will help you adapt, thrive and lead in a changing world
As we celebrate this year's graduates, I’m reminded of this quote from Denzel Washington. Who you are — how you show up for others, how you lead with kindness and courage — that’s what will define your story. Way to go Class of 2025. Go make your mark and lead with heart!
The job market is competitive-but preparation gives you the edge. Before stepping into the job interview, take time to research the company, understand the role, and learn about your interviewers. It shows you're serious, informed, and ready to contribute from day one.
Studies show juggling tasks leads to mistakes, slower work, and mental fatigue. Train your brain to focus on a task at a time, prioritize what matters most, use time blocks to stay on track, and pause with intention when things arise. This isn’t about doing less but doing better.
Start smart: conquer the hardest task first! According to a study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, people who tackle their most challenging task first are more productive and feel less stressed than those who delay it. #oducareercue#oducareer
When coming up with career and personal goals, be SMART. By setting SMART goals, that is goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound, it will help to provide the clarity, focus and motivation you will need to achieve your goals. #oducareer
Sometimes opportunity knocks and all you need to do is open the door. But more often, it’s up to you to create the path forward. As the end of the semester approaches, don’t just wait for the perfect job or internship to appear — take steps to create your own opportunities.
Everyone fails from time to time. However, it is from those failures that success is born. It is by maintaining our enthusiasm and remaining driven to achieve our goals despite setbacks that leads us to success. Successful people learn from their failures and move on. #oducareer
Want to get more done with less stress? Start by writing a to-do list—but don’t stop there. Learn to prioritize. Tools like the Eisenhower Matrix can help you separate what’s urgent vs. what’s actually important. You'll feel less overwhelmed and you'll make more progress.
Kudos to steady dependable workers. When you are loyal to your employer, show up every day with a positive attitude, get along well with others, know your role thoroughly, work hard at that role, and then pitch in without complaint on group work, it generally pays off in the end.
Fear of failure can stop us from setting goals, pursuing our dreams, or trying new things. Instead of letting fear immobilize us, take action knowing that some things might succeed while others might not. Failure is often a step toward growing into God’s destiny for our lives.
Curious about a career path? When exploring different fields, asking the right questions leads to deeper insights and better decisions. Having a short convo with someone in a role or industry you're interested in is a great way to gain valuable knowledge. #ODUCareer#ODUCareerCue
Networking is important for building professional relationships and increasing your visibility for the job market. It can also be useful for discovering and positioning oneself for opportunities that may be going unadvertised or underpromoted. #ODUCareer#ODUCareerCue
Your vision shapes your journey. When you picture where you want to go in life, it becomes easier to make decisions that move you forward—whether that's choosing the right classes, applying for internships, or exploring jobs. Your future begins with the vision you create today.
As the end of the year approaches—whether that means graduation or something else—don't settle for mediocrity, but strive for excellence. Excellence is about effort, growth, and consistency. Keep going & stay focused. You’re more capable than you know. #oducareer#oducareercue
Work life balance is important, however this doesn't necessarily mean finding an equal split between work and leisure, but instead making sure you feel fulfilled and content in both areas of your life. #oducareer#oducareercue
Is your career aligned with what you truly value? Identifying your values is crucial to finding fulfillment and making thoughtful career choices. ODU students, consider taking the FOCUS 2 assessment to help identify what values are important to you.
