We remember Jaquarrius Holland, an 18-year-old, Black transgender woman who our communities lost to violence in Monroe, Louisiana in February, 2017. One friend remembered Jaquarrius saying, "You were a beautiful soul. You could keep me laughing all day."
We remember Keke Collier, also known to friends as Tiara Richmond, a 24-year-old Black transgender woman who our communities lost to violence in Chicago in February. One long-time friend remembered KeKe: "She loved to dance all the time. She was always the life of the party."
This #TransDayofRemembrance let's honor the at least 25 trans folks in the U.S. and 325 trans folks across the world have been reported as murdered. Most were Black and Brown trans women. No one deserves to lose their life for being their most authentic self. #TDOR
