The last true period of geopolitical transition in the lead up to WWI was no different — assumptions with decades of validity no longer held making both analysis and forecasts wildly divergent and difficult. Writings from that period are immediately easy to identify with.

Not taking anything away from anybody’s service in the least, but not all service gains exposure to the same experience. My wartime service certainly pales in comparison to many — GWOT wasn’t an Air Superiority war. But those who haven’t been exposed to or gained experience at the strategic level at and above the department level don’t have the understanding that those who do have. My only critique of this video is that it’s not one I ever would’ve made during previous administrations when there was clear impropriety. I question a lot about it.

All should read to understand the NSS. Putin doesn’t have to be our bestie to be our ally in key arenas — our Venn diagrams do overlap. Diesel deal isn’t primarily about the price of diesel. It isn’t even secondarily about that. It’s about equities this gentleman wouldn’t even consider to be involved, but they’re core to the strategic objectives this administration set out to actively achieve on 1/20/25.
