Station 61s wants to give a big thank you and shout out to Boy Scouts Quincy J. from Iron Horse Pack 5 and Royce L. from Iron Horse Troop 42 along with Heather and Kaai for bringing us some popcorn. They could have blessed anyone and they decided to take care of us ❤️❤️
Shout out to this future fire fighter Liam and his family. He had no idea he’d run into Truck 61s today but somehow he was prepared lol Thank you Liam for making my day (posted with permission)
The Saturday morning routine is making sure the bay floors are cleaned, making breakfast and calling it out so everyone cleaning can come eat lol #StationLife#Station61
One of my favorite parts of the job is seeing how excited the kids are to see the station/trucks. Girl’s Scout Troop 41477 came by the station for a tour. The last pic is FF John Lee joining in on the fun lol #GirlsRock#FutureFireFighters
When you’re done with training and become a candidate you’re not done with training lol Every day we are learning and working to be better to better serve. #Newbie#Candidate#Learning#Growing#Serving
Everyone asks me what we do at work when we aren’t on calls. This may be the most important part of our morning routine… checking your equipment and making sure everything is ready to go. Starting saws, checking the med box, checking the jaws and testing the ladder. Best job ever
All of our rescue rigs wanted to come out and do some training with the new Tower Truck. I love how these crews are always trying to learn, be better and stay prepared. They truly care about helping people and being of service 🚒🚑 #OFD
Everyone always asks me what we do at the fire station when we are not making calls. So I’m doing a “Station Life” series of short videos detailing what it’s like for us on a typical day at the fire house. FYI: Saturdays are deep clean days.
After being at the downtown fire for a few hours the other day, we get back to the station to see this!!! This amazing young man named Joe Pottebaum made this wooden flag by hand for us. It really made me feel so appreciated after the fire we had just finished. Thank you Joe 😇
T61 showing the kids the fire truck at King of Kings back to school event. What a great time!!! FF Gentry and FF Luthke may or may not have had a dance battle 👩🏽🚒🧑🚒🧑🏻🚒🚒 #OFDCares#Community#GentryWonTheDanceBattle
Please join us as we congratulate FF/PM Lowell Ferguson for being presented with the 'Field Preceptor of the Year' award by @Creighton's P125 Paramedic Class. He is assigned as our Lead Medic on M5C and has demonstrated a dedication to the education of future paramedics. 👏🚑
