@TwainsMustache@EnergyCynic While I agree with your point, what is happening now is that Russia is deliberately screwing with the gas market to get NS-2 done, so they can stop paying monies to Ukraine/Poland and have extra power
@WillRayValentin@EnergyCredit1@Chasing_Value The 80%-85% or so reduction in likelihood of catching it in the first place (for Delta), and the many infections that can be caused before someone becomes symptomatic, are the big things I believe.
Also likely shorter duration of having it as body fights back quicker
@KeyserSozeBro1 @DavidBCollum It's only as low as that (might be a bit higher, we're averaging 600/day at the mo and hospitalisations lag infections) because the UK is so heavily vaxxed. So even more in favour of what you say.

@fascinatorfun There were problems getting in. People had to have their ticket 'activated' by showing -ve test. Some skipped / marshals didn't do - they then went to front, caused chaos. 45 mins packed like sardines even when avoiding pub t'port. Double vaxxed friend +ve LFR y'day, PCR taken.
@losingyourmoney It's old but 1.4bn barrels consumed in cars in '94.
1 barrel = 1.699 MWh.
=> 1m barrels = 1.699 TWh
=> primary energy = 2,380 TWh
EVs = 85% efficiency vs gasoline c25%.
=> EV primary energy = 2380*25%/85% = 700 TWh
US uses 4,000 TWh per year elec at mo

@CristbalGuncke1@ProfessorWerner I did. It wasn't a great article. It was trying to shoehorn some of Mazzucatto's favourite themes in to the climate policy debate and somehow link it to COVID/lockdowns for title bait
You'll have to explain your comment more fully to me. I'm not a complete fiction novice, but...
@OilSheppard@ira_joseph That Norway chart looks very wrong - see historical annual production here: https://t.co/Sm7SCTgc5h
They are at max capacity, with maintenance/outages having some impact.
@WillRayValentin But this is true for those outside US, Russia or Mid-East at this moment in time (the report does say half the world, not all). Gas is $10 in Europe! That's basically $65-70/MWh just in fuel costs for eleccy.
So, Andreas Loetscher was in charge of the Wirecard audit from 2015-2017, he's seeking an injunction to prevent his name from being included in a German government report about the Wirecard fraud
Please retweet if you'd like to introduce Andreas to the Streisand effect
@HedgeDirty NS-2 matters less for incremental gas supply in to Europe than at first glance because of other bottlenecks.
Although Russia are clearly juicing the market by withholding supply at the moment & you could be right if it's v cold in Northern hemisphere again.
