🤦♂️ Another day. Another Labour MP. Another CAR CRASH interview.
This time it was Financial Secretary to the Treasury James Murray on @LBC, who appeared to know next to nothing about the Treasury’s own finances, much to Nick Ferrari’s mounting bemusement.
Murray was busy boasting about removing VAT from energy bills to “help families this winter”. Nick asked the most basic question imaginable: how much will that cost the Treasury?
Murray hadn’t a clue.
Nick tried again. And again. Getting more exasperated with every attempt.
Ferrari: “There must be a ballpark figure as to how much this is going to cost?”
Murray: “Yes, but I haven’t got that figure in front of me.”
Ferrari: “Hang on. You’re the Financial Secretary to the Treasury and you don’t know how much it’s going to cost you?”
Murray: “I haven’t got the figure in front of me right now, Nick.”
Ferrari: “Why not? Don’t you think it’s a fairly relevant figure, Secretary?”
Nick pointed out that Murray and his colleagues must have sat around and come up with the plan, and the cost, so he should obviously know the answer. Murray just kept repeating the same line: he didn’t have the figure.
Nick finally gave up: “Well I’ve asked four times and you haven’t answered. I find that extraordinary.”
The whole interview was like that. Question after question on a range of subjects. No answers. Just waffle. I don’t know why these people bother going on air. Pathetic.
