Support for AMIE (IEI) Students
Thousands of Diploma Engineers continue to face uncertainty due to the unresolved recognition issue of AMIE (Institution of Engineers (India) - IEI).
For decades, AMIE provided a valuable pathway for working diploma engineers from financially weaker backgrounds to earn an engineering qualification while continuing their jobs. Many distinguished professionals, including India's current ISRO Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan, have an AMIE qualification in their academic journey.
After the MHRD withdrew the earlier recognition framework and entrusted AICTE with the review process, many students enrolled between 1 June 2013 and 2020 have faced prolonged uncertainty because AICTE did not grant recognition for that period.
This is not just about a qualification—it is about the future of thousands of hardworking engineers who chose education despite financial and professional challenges.
A transparent, fair, and timely resolution is essential to ensure that genuine students are not adversely affected by regulatory uncertainty.
@IEI_Kolkata The advocate representing IEI case is unable to tell to the court that IEI provides lab and project work to it's students at various IITs, NITs, and other top Engineering colleges thats why it is different from IME and other professional societies institutions.
@IEI_Kolkata As I can see that IEI has a long list of successful and influential people, Than how the government is not giving recognition to AMIE degree and victim students of IEI.
