Year 1 absolutely loved their Gruffalo-themed morning at Tandle Hill on Friday. Thank you to Oldham Sports Partnerships for organising the activities and helping us all have a wonderful experience!
Our Year 3 class have been working very hard on their entries for the @isaschools Butterflies Competition. They have made a simple automata using a wooden clothes peg to make the butterfly wings move. Mrs McCarthy is so proud of the children and their work. π¦
This afternoon, we visited @OHGSPrep with the one and only Chaddy The Owl to promote our May Half Term Multisports and Football camps being held at the school! π¦
As we look to expand our half term activity across the borough, alongside our successful Soccer School hosted @RoytonCrompton, we are looking to speak to schools who may be interested in working with us!

Our Year 3 pupils went back in time today to the 1940s for a living history day visiting Stockport Air Raid Shelter & Stockport Museum. Everyone was dressed for the occasion and carrying their homemade gas mask box.
Year 3 and 4 cricket club is in full swing this term! The children have been working on straight drives and pull shots this week with Mr Cook and Mrs Thorpe π

On Friday 17 May, Prep students at HGS will be celebrating Cultural Diversity Day. π
Students are encouraged to come to school wearing clothing from their own heritage or background.
The day will also consist of a Prep school picnic.π§Ί If they would like to, parents are invited to send in goodies for their children to share with their peers.
This will be a wonderful opportunity for the children to sample foods from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
Congratulations to Esa (Year 5) who has been awarded his gold @JuniorDukeAward in assembly this morning.π₯
Esa is the first of our Prep pupils to complete the award this academic year and we are looking forward to many more pupils achieving it over the coming weeks.
We are inviting parents of Key Stage 2 students to our LAMDA Showcase. As a celebration of their hard work and progression this academic year, students will perform their LAMDA scenes on stage, in front of family and friends!

Our Year 5 pupils have had a great day at @NCMME today as part of their learning centred around the Industrial Revolution. They also had the chance to go down into the coal pit to level 4, 140 metres down!
Year 5 were recently given the task of creating their own poetry after a deep-dive focused on The Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll. This morning, Celestielle and Kiyaan came to share their amazing work with Mrs Ward, Head of Prep.
In History and Geography, the Year 1 children have been learning all about castles. Today, they took a trip to Lancaster Castle and enjoyed identifying and talking about its key features. They were amazed by its outer walls and the huge portcullis.

Last term some of our Prep students took part in their annual dance show. From an Addams Family routine to Bedtime Bears, we saw some fantastic performances from pupils in Pre-Prep to Year 2, plus dances from Infinity Co-Curricular Dance Club and Miss Sally from Baby Ballet.πΆ
