Dr. Ponsawan Leaungwutiwong of Thailand's @MahidolU reminds us that #telemedicine applications can provide patient access to health professionals at any time.
Learning the impact of #gender in epidemics is key for prevention and control of epidemics, says Ndola Prata; and Nargiza Ludgate shows the e.g. in her team's research into the participation of women in livestock vaccine value chains. #OneHealth in action!
Scientists need #data! Collecting data disaggregated by sex and #gender is the only way, as @Bagnolbrigitte reminds us, to accurately interpret differences and similarities related to those attributes.
Talking #gender differences in #COVID19 outcomes, @sabraklein1998 reports on data that indicate that 87% of countries (those that are disaggregating case numbers by sex) are reporting more deaths in males than females.
Roughly 1 million new cases globally in the last two weeks world wide of #COVID19 - as @DrBrianHBird of @OneHealthUCD reminds us, though, "outbreaks start in communities and end in communities."
I believe we all need to get behind #NIAID Director Anthony Fauci, who is trying to transcend chaos with strong heath & science comms re #COVIDー19 along w/other leaders, even when faced with opposition from those in power above them. #TruthMatters@CDCDirector@OneHealthUCD
"One Health is animals, people & environment living in harmony" this sculpture 'the adventures of Mochi,' is the title of a comic book about a girl who seeks enviro justice. An otter reads the book near a globe tholding a real copy of the book for people. #OneHealthContest entry
On the 25th-29th days of #OneHealthMonth my daughters gave me a reminder that #OneHealth collaboration is hard and multi-factoral https://t.co/NED9xITYLS So, while they work on their #OneHealthContest entry, they have neglected my daily calendar, and I'm forgetting too!
On the 18th - 24th days of #OneHealthMonth my daughters gave to me: a whole ceramic fruit container, with lid, and fruits! It's awesome and it was totally worth the wait! Fruits are plants!! The health of plants, animals, environment and humans = #OneHealth
On the 18th day of #OneHealthMonth my daughters gave to me some time to clean in the garage, wherein I found an old Netflix DVD and logged-in to my account to see how it had been handled. Once on, I saw a very important preview for a huge #OneHealth topic: https://t.co/wSF8ugzcdn
On the 17th day of #OneHealthMonth my daughers gave to me: nothing. Which is a good reminder of what many of us need. Consider the health of animals, plants, people and the environment when choosing your next conference giveaway! I've got too much stuff!
On the 15th day of #OneHealthMonth my daughters gave to me: a ceramic banana. On the 16th, about a 1/2 oz of aloe vera juice. A good reminder of how humans and plants interact, co-evolve, and benefit from one-another.
On the 14th day of #OneHealthMonth my daughters gave to me: a jar of water. In many ways, water ties all #OneHealth disciplines together, and #SDG6 reminds us that not enough people in the world have access to safe drinking water or sanitation.
And on the 11th, 12th, and 13th day of #OneHealthMonth, my daughters gave to me: a pea, a cow, and a snowflake. Easy to see that animals, plants, and the environment were all given artistic representation by awesome human hands. Well, except the cow.
On the 10th day of #OneHealthMonth my daughters gave to me: um, well, another rock! It reminds us all that, again, the environment is very important in #OneHealth ... and that all working professionals sometimes phone it in on Fridays.
On the 9th day of #OneHealthMonth my daughter gave to me: a handcrafted ceramic mug for my coffee drinking needs! Multidisciplinary problem solving is best facilitated with caffeine... and #calvinandhobbes remind us to see humor in all things.
