I’m not sure many know the complexity of pulling off a statewide election. The planning and prep, the testing, the security protocols, poll worker recruitment and training, early voting, the logistics of staging and staffing what are essentially highly technical pop-up shops that move hundreds of thousands of people through temporary venues in a 13-hour window of time. Then taking it all down while continuing to finalize vote counts and audit results over the next few weeks.

Many election officials, including my staff, pull a nearly 24-hour shift from Election Day to the next morning. It’s a finely orchestrated symphony of teamwork that proves Ohio to be the gold standard of election administration. I truly wish you could see it all come together like I do, because it inspires confidence and pride. I simply want to say thank you to the thousands of people, public officials and volunteers, who make it all happen. Our democracy thrives because of you.
