yesterday I realised I had been socially engineered over the past few months…

an embarrassing moment of realisation that has never happened to me before but I’d like to share the following information so that you can remain safe and protect yourself from the same

what is Social Engineering?

the manipulation of a person/people for information, money or access to things you own

signs include;

- urgency
- unsolicited requests
- too-good deals
- phishing cues
- authority impersonation
- odd payments
- personal info probing
- baiting

there are things you can do to protect yourself;

- verify sources
- question unsolicited contacts
- use 2FA
- stay educated

remember there are a lot of bad actors out there, especially in the crypto space given the direct access to your hard earned money

do not trust that someone is authentic no matter their position, you need to keep yourself safe at all times - always exercise caution and verify sources

do not give funds out in good faith that they will be returned, even if you feel like you are helping out a friend

question everything, remember only you can keep yourself safe

gm, quick update relevant to @clankeronbase interfaces

Clanker eng team has updated all interface partner fee splits. From ~9am EST, all coins launched via our Partner Interfaces will receive the following split:

- 40% creator
- 40% interface
- 20% clanker

We will continue to iterate around rewards, and recently recruited particularly to improve our pool structure, optimize for app & creator reward generation, and build out Clanker v4 on Uniswap v4

things to look out for in the weeks and months ahead...

- upgrade to Uniswap v4, hooks to develop a rich library of features interfaces & coins can plug into when designing opinionated launches for different types of project
- more interfaces. highly differentiated products with unique UX are reaching out, interested in leveraging clanker to monetize, deploy coins, and integrate our non-inflationary rewards model
- bigger individual launches. these often require special features we don't offer at this time. good example: a clanker interface @productclank raised $100k on @prtyDAO today, launch expected tomorrow
integrating with tools like party and building more custom features for founders and teams planning to grow longer term within our ecosystem makes sense. Enabling alternative funding, allocations, vesting, distributions - all complex and nuanced stuff. Will be important not to throw the 'fair launch' baby out with the bathwater, but the requests haven't stopped and we want to improve. Confidence in our model should != stagnation
- bigger partnerships, projects using clanker for specific product rollouts. some on Base, some elsewhere around the Superchain. Celeb & high-follower creator coins. clanker x ______ collabs to explore how creators get attention with tools we simply do not provide. they exist though, and we want to bring the best options to the market
- clanker (ie the project itself) updates. entity, team, events, other announcements. long awaited stuff, but still just much ado about a bot, a factory, and revenue.

The @coinbase listings team wants to list any and every token that lifts up builders, no matter what chain it's on.  But as a regulated exchange there are important differences between what we want to list, and what we are able to list. I know that's not always clear, and frustrates many of you as much as it frustrates us. So I hope you'll join @jessepollak and me on Thursday at noon PT on @base; we will get into how we plan to make things better.

Gas is paid in ETH for some reason.

There are no contract security scanners on this chain.

The AA is just Privy and it's broken.

The RPCs are failing.

All of the interesting Apps are still gated by a whitelist code.

Relayer lost my funds on the abstract side.

It's clear this chain was not ready to be launched.
