I hope I'm wrong.
But tonight feels like some sort of invisible line has been crossed that we didn't even know was there. The last time I felt like this was 9/11 when it was clear, without knowing the how and the what, that the world was about to change forever.
Like the rules of the game had been permanently altered and there was simply no going to back to the innocent, peaceful past.
I didn't feel like this when an attempt was made on President Trump's life. If I had to rationalise why I didn't, I guess it's because several US Presidents have been shot at and even assassinated. Somehow it was within the realms of the possible, no matter how awful.
But to murder a young father simply for doing debates and mobilising young people to vote for a party that represents half of America? This is something else.
Charlie's death is a tragedy for his wife, his children and his family. I don't pray often. I am praying for them tonight.
But I fear his murder will be a tragedy for all of us in ways we will only understand as time unfolds.
I hope I'm wrong.

What has this country become?
Woke up this morning to the sad news that @Banstead_Rovers will not be entering the @SurreyPremierCF a league they’ve worked so hard towards.
Despite overcoming every obstacle & hurdle the league threw at them they have fallen at the very last one due to being outvoted.
Let me just remind you this is a community club run by young men trying to have a positive impact not only in their own community but others similar to theirs, setting exemplary examples on & off the pitch having also set up youth team to create clear positive pathways for children from young age into men’s football.
I have no doubt they will dust themselves down & bounce back but this is yet another example of grown men in positions of power holding back young men trying their upmost to navigate through the world of football using innovation instead of submitting to other less positive means to progress.
The clubs that voted against them joining the league are merely threatened & surely only trying to increase their own chances of promotion which could be deemed as weak & unsportsmanlike but again I feel the accountability lies with the league committee itself. What message does this send out to other young men trying to progress up the league pyramid? Trying to create a club that provides opportunities to the community?
This situation will be highlighted in greater depth alongside @Banstead_Rovers & anyone from the @SurreyPremierCF is welcome to come in and share their side of the saga also 🎥🎙️⚽️
