While I do think its unfortunate physical games are being phased out, we did it to ourselves. This app will always be a tiny echo chamber full of people that say one thing and do another (including myself). I remember being against the all digital PS5 then ended up buying 95% of my games digitally. The vast majority of game sales on the platform are digital, so it’s a natural progression. If we (we as a gaming community, not your individual actions) wanted physical we should have continued to support physical sales. Convenience is a killer and will continue to take away things people claim to love. Theres tons of people on here bitching that are gonna buy Wolverine digitally day one come September 🤷🏽♂️
The biggest winners of The Game Awards 2025 was Expedition 33 (rightfully so). It's an amazing RPG that you can tell was a labor of love for the developers. Easily my favorite game I've played since Elden Ring dropped in 2022.
The best part is it's a 30 to 70hr game made by a team of 30 developers + reports claim it took only 10 million to make. Not to mention the game is only $50. I pray this shows the industry every game doesn't need to be a 200 million dollar live service block buster to thrive.
Gamers are cool with seeing more smaller budget/scale games because it allows for greater creativity and it's less of a financial burden on publishers.
Gamers get more new IP's and creative projects + publishers lower their overhead. Lower overhead means greater profits if it succeeds or less losses if the game fails. It's a win/win situation honestly.
As for the biggest losers of the night that's EASILY Ubisoft. For those unaware EX33's dev team was made up of mostly ex Ubisoft employees. Ubisoft could have had this masterpiece in their portfolio if they'd stop stifling their staffs creativity and forcing them to make more open world SLOP 🤷🏾♂️
Battlefield 6 doesn’t need to “kill” COD.
It just needs to be there competing.
The casual FPS space has been so barren and dry for years now. COD has done the bare minimum because it hasn’t had to do anything more.
It’s time for Battlefield to step up.

Releasing August 8th. Honestly not sure how I'm feeling about this one, love the trilogy but nothing I've seen from this has sold me so far. 😔
