@zriboua You’ve just focusing on economics, it’s only one strategy. The Administration might have a good economic strategy, but a maritime and military strategy was needed to control the situation. Instead, Trump did fuck-all in May, and allowed the Persians to squeeze the global economy
@DrNeilStone It was a stupid political decision. Trump signed a ceasefire in April without mandating the Persians to open it. Then he called off Project Freedom because Pakistan asked him to
It's not only about their nuclear programme, and regime change wasn't the goal. The issue is that Trump fucked about for the last month doing nothing, whilst the Persians kept Hormuz shut. It wouldn't have been a loss if he actually complete the air campaign, hit their energy, and conducted operations in Hormuz. Instead he begged like an idiot, stretched this out, and gave the Persians a victory
It wasn't cope until Feb 28. Before that, the US disabled the Persian's nuclear programme where they stopped enriching for months. Trump then disabled their offensive military capabilities, just to get played as a fool by committing to their game of negotiating around Hormuz and Lebanon
@Mr_Andrew_Fox This didn't need to happen. When you let a narcissist direct policies on emotions and vibes. At least the US didn't have leverage in Vietnam. The Mar-a-Lago Mullah took the Persian side on Lebanon, and capitulated as soon as they blinked, showing commitment to agree to ANYTHING
@MahyarTousi This has to be satire. Trump has been too weak to fight back against Iran shutting down Hormuz, arming Hezbollah to attack Israel during the ceasefire, and conducting frequent attacks on Gulf countries. Now he’s just rewarding them for it with sanction reliefs
@Osinttechnical What a pathetic projection. The events tonight right are on Trump’s hands for his weakness in allowing Tehran to dictate conditions around Hormuz and Lebanon
@LindseyGrahamSC@mdubowitz Impeach this weak President and his VP after midterms! Giving Tehran billions in sanction reliefs and allowing them to set the conditions by normalising maritime terrorism and IRGC occupation of the region
@mdubowitz Already had his chance. The ceasefire ended up being a massive blunder. He could have gotten this war over in May and an open Strait, with a significantly degraded Iran
I won't hold my breath as the ceasefire was an objective mistake. He could've been done with this war by May if he took another 2 weeks to finish target list, hit their energy and fuel, used special forces to destroy nuclear sites, and then established a postwar international coalition for Hormuz
@MahyarTousi The best case is something like Iraq after the Gulf War where the Saddam regime was forced into diplomacy after a historic military defeat and isolation!
@SecScottBessent@WhiteHouse@realDonaldTrump GDP low, real wage growth low, job reports abysmal. Reverse the stupid broad tariffs and Leftist policies in housing, credit, healthcare. AI (taking stocks in companies)
@DentureFairy@NicholasLissack@EricLDaugh There’s not really an armed group besides Kurds. I agree the ceasefire and deal begging has been pathetic, he should have finished the war in May and secure international coalition for Hormuz, then left
@KINGOX7_8@NicholasLissack@EricLDaugh That's just degrading their offensive capabilities. Air campaign was never meant to overthrow the regime, it's not how that works
