Installation is almost complete on "Kicks 66", a massive 35-foot-tall, illuminated red cowboy boot sculpture in Oklahoma City celebrating the 100th anniversary of Route 66.
Designed by local artist Cameron Eagle, the 6-ton aluminum monument features the stitched lyric, "Oklahoma City Looks Mighty Pretty"
The location is just east of the @ncwhm National Cowboy and Western Heritage Center near NE 63rd and MLK Boulevard.
Preliminary work has started for the new OKC multi-purpose stadium, to be located south of Bricktown as part of a large mixed-use project.
The official groundbreaking will take place on June 1st.
The $108 million project will include capacity for 10,000 and is designed to handle future expansion.
Projected completion is early 2028, at which time the OKC Energy soccer team (under a new name, likely OKC United per recent trademark filings) will resume operations.
The facility will also host concerts, football, and other events.

Plans are underway to open Oklahoma’s first La La Land Kind Cafe at Classen Curve, 5825 NW Grand near Western.
They will be taking the space formerly occupied by Freebird shoes, an end location across from Upper Crust and Sur La Table.
La La Land features coffee, tea, coolers, and various variations of avocado toast.
They are known for their clean and bright aesthetic and their signature yellow color.
The company is headquartered in Dallas.

Plans are underway for Brictown Brewery to open at the site of the former On The Border restaurant and NW Expressway and Lake Hefner Parkway.
The brewery is also planning to take over the recently closed S&B Burger spot at 1000 NW 192nd, just east of Western.
These would be the 22nd and 23rd locations for Bricktown Brewery, now operating in five states.
Continental Resources has secured 15-year naming rights for the new OKC arena and new home for the @okcthunder.
