FWIW, I took a shot at this in this book, aiming to give guys a vision for masculinity that matches Adam's original job as "keeper of the Garden."
It avoids the tropes while giving a coherent, easy-to-understand idea of masculinity. (At least that was my goal.)
Growing up in that little two-bedroom, one-bath house on 43rd Street in Oklahoma City, I never could've imagined my city having an NBA team, let alone an NBA champion.
“If you’re married with kids, now is the time to be home a lot. It’s not the time to relentlessly do ‘whatever it takes’ to build your career. Now is the time to concentrate on the people around you, the ones depending on you. This is your garden. Keep it.”
