2017 Gallup poll concluded that 4.5% of adult Americans identify as LGBTQ with 5.1% of women identifying as LGBTQ compared with 3.9% of men. #OKHOMO

More than half (53.3%) of LGBTQ students have a GSA at their school. Of the LGBTQ students with a GSA, most (63.7%) participate and 22.2% are club learders. @GLSEN #OKHOMO

8.8% of LGBTQ students are homeless and are planing on dropping out of school. #OKHOMO

Because of "No Promo Homo" laws only 6.7% of LGBTQ students reported receiving LGBTQ-inclusive sex education at school. @GLSEN #OKHOMO

85% of LGBTQ students report being verbally harassed at school. 57% of LGBTQ students feel unsafe at school because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. @EqualityUtah #OKHOMO

Schools in states with "No Promo Homo" laws have less inclusive curriculum. 22.6% of students are taught negative things about LGBTQ topics/people. And 13.8% are taught positive things. via @GLSEN #OKHOMO

The "No Promo Homo" laws keep schools from covering LGBTQ issues in Sex Ed. Lots of students who are in the LGBTQ community suffer because of this. Students complain about not learning relevant information in Sex Ed due to this law. #OKHOMO

There are seven states that still have "No Promo Homo" Laws: Alabama, Texas, Arizona, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Oklahoma. These states regularly rank lower than the vast majority of states without these laws. Coincidence? #OKHOMO

We are a group of 8th graders at Del Crest Middle School trying to overcome a lack of support for LGBTQ students and educators by advocating against the existing "No Promo Homo" Laws by meeting and working with Oklahoma legislators to achieve our goal. #OKHOMO
