We would encourage everyone to stay off the roads if you don’t have to get out. This is south of Turner Falls on US Hwy 77 - it is blocked with a jacknifed semi. I-35 in that area is also blocked due to stuck semis southbound. Troopers are working crashes all over the state.
The winter weather is finally here, so Sgt. Christy Yokley with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Division has some tips before you head out on the roads.
Drowsy driving warning signs:
oTrouble keeping your eyes open and focused
oUnable to keep your head up
oDrifting out of your lane or tailgating
oYawning or rubbing your eyes repeatedly
oMissing signs or driving past your turn
oCan't remember how far you've gone
A person under the age of 21 is driving under the influence when they drive, operate, or are in actual physical control of a motor vehicle who has any measurable quantity of alcohol in their blood or breath at the time of a test.
Members of ASIA did a survey of cars passing the school on Hwy 99 and Cotton Gin Rd. Between 7:30-8:10 am, 48 cars had seat belt use; 52 cars did not. Hominy HS will encourage students & faculty to fasten their seatbelts every time they are in a vehicle. @HominyHS
