This evening, I have the distinct honour and privilege of representing His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda, General @KagutaMuseveni , here in Melbourne, Australia, at the UG@64 Australasian Independence Gala, Business and Cultural Convention, held in celebration of Uganda’s 64th Independence Anniversary.
I stand before you as His Excellency’s officially designated representative, entrusted with the responsibility of conveying his message, extending his greetings and sharing his reflections on Uganda’s journey of independence, national development and socio-economic transformation.
On behalf of His Excellency the President, I extend warm greetings to all Ugandans across Australia, New Zealand and the wider Australasian region, as well as to our distinguished guests and friends of Uganda gathered here this evening.
Although His Excellency is unable to be physically present due to previously scheduled national and state commitments, he conveys his best wishes to you all and has entrusted me with the honour of representing him at this important national celebration.
Fellow Countrymen and Countrywomen, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, and especially the Bazukulu gathered here in Melbourne,
This gathering is a powerful demonstration of the enduring bond between Uganda and her diaspora community. Wherever we may be in the world, Uganda remains our motherland the land of our heritage, ancestry, identity and shared destiny.
As we celebrate 64 years of independence, we reflect on our country’s journey, recognise the progress we have made, and renew our collective commitment to building a peaceful, modern, industrialised and prosperous Uganda. I delivered a donation of 23,000 Australia Dollars equivalent of 15000$ towards event’s preparations .
The General Secretary of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Hon. Twalla Fadil; the Deputy Director of Mobilisation, Hon. Henry Basaliza; the Commissioner for External Affairs, Mr. Rutasharara Stephen; and the PLU Coordinator for Ntungamo District, Mr. Muhumuza Jonan, paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Nelson Tugume at Africa Coffee Park.
The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between PLU and Africa Coffee Park, explore opportunities to promote Uganda’s coffee industry, support coffee farmers, create employment opportunities for young people, and advance value addition as a means of boosting household incomes and national economic growth.
The engagement reaffirmed the importance of partnerships between PLU and key private-sector players in promoting coffee production, agro-industrialisation, and Uganda’s economic transformation.
On the issue of pastors, I urge caution. Almighty God chose for His son, Jesus Christ, to be born in a manger in a stable in Bethlehem. Not in a palace in Jerusalem. So, let us not despise messengers who seem small. However, Christ also guided us in Matthew 7:16 that...'Ye shall know them by their fruits'.
Today, it was my honour to meet Her Excellency the Honourable Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Secretary General of the Commonwealth. The Commonwealth of Nations is an international association we are deeply proud to be a part of as a country. Our history, use of the English language and very close ties with the United Kingdom make us a natural member of this organisation. We shall continue to support all its endeavors.
PLU has 4 core principles. They are:
(a) Upholding Yoweri Museveni Thought;
(b) Modernization of Agriculture;
(c) Modernization of Industry; and
(d) Modernization of the UPDF.
In Uganda, there is freedom of religion. As long as you are worshipping the Creator, Almighty God. The only religion that is COMPLETELY banned in Uganda is Satanism. The worship of the devil. For that you will surely go to jail for a long time.
🫡 Door to door, village engagements with the locals. Mzee Etabha in kawempe village Bugiri District was very happy to Endorse Gen. @mkainerugaba Museveni as our Generational President after M7 for Steady progress💯. I call upon fellow Youth to join PLU & build our 🇺🇬 together.
I shall visit my homeland in Israel soon. I must go and say a prayer at the empty tomb of my God, Jesus Christ. God give victory to Uganda and Israel always. 🙏🙏🙏
ENDF under my brother Field Marshal Birhanu Jula is one of the strongest armies in Africa. The war will be short and all the adversaries will be defeated badly.
