In the Mediterranean, the Russian gas tanker detached from its tug due to a storm and began drifting. Libya’s Ports and Maritime Transport Authority reported that the towing operation “failed.”

Libya is calling on Mediterranean countries to take measures regarding the drifting gas tanker.
The ship began drifting in early March following explosions near Malta and Lampedusa. All 30 crew members were rescued.
