Gospel: Today's Gospel often shocks many Christians. Matthew tells us Jesus's "mother and brothers" have come from Nazareth to Capernaum (Mt 12). Mark's Gospel, which Matthew drew upon, fills in the story, saying his family thought he was "out of his mind" and came to "arrest..."
We need to reject war, a place of death where fathers and mothers bury their children, where men kill their brothers and sisters without even having seen them, where the powerful decide and the poor die.
