I don't think it's fair for a guy to be very close to a girl without defining the relationship, so you don't waste her time or prevent other serious guys from approaching her for marriage.
My favourite kind of love is him trusting me with his thoughts, asking for my opinion, listening and going along with it.
Nothing beats having a partner who sees you as a confidant, friend and safe space.
Death doesn’t warn you.
The people you love are going to die and so are you and the whole arrangement is designed so that you never get enough warning to prepare for it properly.
You think you’ll get a moment. A last conversation, a chance to say the real thing instead of the small talk you’ve been hiding behind for years. Most people don’t get that. The last time you talk to someone is usually just an ordinary Tuesday and neither of you knows it’s the last one, so you waste it on nothing and then it’s the only thing you have left of them.
That’s the cruelty of it. Not the dying itself, but the not knowing which moment is the one you should have paid attention to.
Sexual discipline saves you from a lot in our world. Do not force a thing. If you get rejected, move on.
Do not take advantage of anyone.
Give yourself brain.
Cancer is a big problem in our society and it almost seems like anyone can get it no matter how careful you are, but you can also do some things to protect yourself and loved ones.
Cut down:
• Charred suya, the black bits, processed meat, sausages and hot dogs used in shawarma etc
• Mouldy groundnut, maize, egusi
• Reused frying oil
• Sniper-preserved beans, formalin fish
• Alcohol (shayo sweet but think about the long term complications) and smoking
• Firewood & generator smoke indoors
• Skin lightening creams
Also do this:
• Test for Hepatitis B and vaccinate if negative, biggest cause of liver cancer in our society. Test for Hep C too (no vaccine, but it’s curable now with treatment)
• HPV vaccine + screening for the women you love, the biggest cause of cervical cancer in our society, and a rising cause of throat cancer
• Grill beside the coals, not over them
Protect yourself. Protect your family.
As someone who has had her own share of relationship woes, I can confidently tell you that you won’t get the love you desire until you HEAL COMPLETELY.
Being hurt has a way of projecting your insecurities and pain on even those who have good intentions towards you, and it could ruin anything positive that is meant to be yours.
Heal, learn the lessons, work on your own shortcomings, give yourself grace and open up your heart.🌚
Love didn’t hurt you.
The people who don’t know how to love did.
Stop closing your heart to new experiences and people.
The love you want is out there, and it will come.🫠
Let me pray this for someone out there. It’s not for everyone. “Very soon, those who did not believe in you, and looked down on you, will look up to you.” And when that time comes, instead of paying them back, you will do them good and show mercy”
People should be kinder to the ones who genuinely show up for them. Appreciate the people who check on you, support you, make time for you, and stand by you when they don’t have to. One day, you might realise that the person you took for granted was the one who truly cared.
I’ve never been the type to stay around for what I could gain. When I care, I care for real. When I show up, it’s genuine. I’ve never seen people as opportunities, only as souls worth valuing. Maybe that’s why disappointment cuts deep, my intentions were always pure.
If you’re in a toxic relationship, please leave.
And if you need a shoulder to cry on, come to my house.
I promise I will cook Jollof rice and big turkey for you.🥹🥹
I’ve never faked how much I care. When I choose to show up in someone’s life, it’s never out of habit or obligation, it’s because I genuinely mean it. I don’t fake it when it comes to love, friendship, or support. When I ask how you’re doing, I actually want to know. When I show up, it’s straight from my heart.
My loyalty isn’t loud, but it’s solid. Everything I give, my time, a message, even a quiet prayer, comes from a real place, never for show, never with conditions attached.
