I predict that Chinese wuxia will eventually be claimed as part of “Korean culture” too. Sooner or later, we will probably see a flood of Korean wuxia films, dramas, and comics. And when people question it, the answer will be the same familiar script: Chinese culture will suddenly be rebranded as “shared Asian culture,” and wuxia will be reframed as something Korea has supposedly had since ancient times. It is always the same pattern: borrow first, relabel it later, and then act offended when someone points out the obvious.
@opieaccount4@urrfavonce_ Gimbap is a food made under the influence of sushi rolls! The appearance of the seaweed is the same, but the contents inside are baked and put in various things.
🇨🇳🇰🇷A group of six Chinese men brutally assaulted a Korean man in a restaurant in Seoul for asking them to stop smoking.
When a Korean man at a nearby table asked them to stop, the attackers responded, “What’s so great about Koreans?”
They then dragged him outside and brutally assaulted him, choking him, stomping on him, and beating him severely.
He suffered a hairline fracture and other injuries that required surgery and 16 weeks of recovery. His girlfriend was also attacked during the incident.
