@joshrogin Taiwan is the Republic of China (ROC). The Qing Imperial Edict of Abdication officially transferred sovereignty and dynastic territory legally to the ROC.
@gonglei89 As Nobel Prize economist Paul Krugman said, “Productivity isn't everything, but, in the long run, it is almost everything. A country’s ability to improve its standard of living over time depends almost entirely on its ability to raise its output per worker.” That is basic.
@gonglei89 We can spin it in many ways, but at the end of the day, GDP per capita, though not perfect, remains the most time-tested indicator of a country’s overall level of economic development. Any emerging economy would aspire to reach the GDP per capita levels of developed economies.
@pstAsiatech any comparison needs to be framed in context: with a nominal GDP per capita of only ~$13k, China still falls well short of fully developed high-income economies such as the G7, OECD, or even South Korea and Taiwan.
@JackHammer_NFL Buckner was already an established All-Pro caliber player while both Darnold and Lance high high draft picks with promising potential. Darnold has more experience and as you said the consideration being salary cap. Also, Niners and Lance probably just wanted to move on.
