The bellwether for the future of AI; The U.K. CMA’s clearance of the Getty/Shutterstock merger signals that regulators will now permit massive industry consolidation if it allows legacy companies to survive and compete in an AI-dominated world.
My take on why the market is mispricing Getty; https://t.co/ORE7Mm3gFx

@elonmusk@elonmusk Imagine a world where literally everyone has access to primary healthcare by bypassing GP’s. Currently building this. I am at the front end of the health chain. Optimus would support the back end.
“there has been a lot of uncertainty, supply chains have got broken.” Really Jeffries International? Trump has been talking about tariffs for the last 30 years. Business uncertainty is likely down to lack of risk mitigation in their supply chain exposure https://t.co/yPaXF2NgOl
A textbook case of how not to secure rolling stock. South Western Railways ordered trains with no plan on how to get them into service. Poorly specified train design has led to a decade delay. A colossal waste of taxpayers’ and passengers’ money. https://t.co/PTxnysQnnH
China’s iPhone chokehold makes it impossible for @realDonaldTrump to implement tariffs on the sector. Phone’s will not be the only issue-anything technological & aerospace related will end up exempt. The US lost the supply chain battle 30 years ago

The Scottish Government are in talks to buy the port, in consideration of increasing its size to accommodate the ferries whenever delivery is taken of them. Inevitably, this means pumping ever more tax payers money into this scandal, which has received the grand title of being called one of the biggest procurement disasters in Scottish devolution history.
Bad Procurement alert: Scotlands ferry fiasco; The new vessels cost quadruple their original price, one was delivered 7 years late, the other is still being built, both are too big to fit the main harbour for their daily journeys to the Isle of Arran. https://t.co/ZunbNjjGW3
The original contract for Arran Ferries was awarded to Ferguson Marine in 2015 who budgeted £97 million, but costs have ballooned to over £400 million. Delivery was delayed by nearly a decade, with one ferry still incomplete as of today. Design flaws, mismanagement, and the shipyard’s collapse into administration (later nationalised) compounded problems. A critical error was building ferries too large for Ardrossan Harbour, requiring an £80 million upgrade.🧵
Trump is tearing up the Old World Order – as promised. It took Trump to say ‘enough is enough’ to China and the EU. For that he deserves full marks. The way he has decided to act on his understanding gets somewhat lower grades.@IrwinStelzer https://t.co/412GbOPfpY
His understanding of the impact outsourcing has had on domestic affairs is why he is determined to reverse it. Boeing, the manufacturer, is the case he most likes to cite as an example of America selling out its major industries to enrich other nations, to the detriment of the US
“Our politicians have aggressively pursued a policy of globalisation”, @realDonaldTrump remarked in 2016, “moving our jobs, our wealth and our factories to overseas. Globalisation has made the financial elite, very, very wealthy. I used to be one of them.”
When Trump declared “Tariff is the most beautiful word in the dictionary”, he threw down his patriotic gauntlet to challenge the status quo. His focus- the impact of “Clinton era” trade pacts such as the NAFTA, which he called the “worst trade deal” in history, and the WTO
A longstanding critic of outsourcing and offshoring, Trump has rightly spoken about a beleaguered American manufacturing industry and trade policy being the cause of blue-collar malaise. https://t.co/PkLLsYMI4M

“Congo’s crisis is more than minerals.
Terrorism, ethnic conflict, and corruption have made it a warzone. “
Actually it is the other way around. Congo’s permanent crisis is all about its minerals. They are the beginning of a very messy supply chain
